Thank you Brandi for listing some wonderful products I never even knew about. I’ll definitely be trying out the Vaseline Spray, since I’m super lazy and that seems the easiest way to apply lotion.
Now on to my beauty favorites. The list is sooooo long that this is an extremely difficult post for me to write. I literally have to narrow it down because the amount of products I own and love is ridiculous. As you all have seen me write before, I have a sick obsession with makeup. So now on to my list:
Let’s start off with my favorite hair care products. These two hair products I can’t live without and sadly I’ve run out of them both. But I will be restocking them immediately because I already see and feel a difference in my hair without them. The first one is the Alterna Caviar Repair Lengthening Hair and Scalp Elixir….sheesh, that’s a long ass title. I used to have really beautiful, long and full curly hair. That was until I had my kids and I don’t know what happened to my curls. They turned into waves and my hair completely thinned out. So it’s probably a combination of hormone changes and old age. Well during one of my birthday gift months at Sephora I was gifted with the sample sizes of this and the other product and that’s when I fell in love. This serum makes my hair grow like crazy and I know it because my hair grows slow as shit normally. But with this one I gain inches quickly and I also feel like it thickens up my hair. Although that maybe all in my head. The other hair product I love is the Alterna Caviar CC Cream. Yup, there is CC cream for more than your face. I use this as a finisher after I curl my hair with a curling iron or when I straighten it. It leaves my hair smooth and soft and the scent of it is super yummy. The cost of the products are a bit on the pricier side but you get a lot of product and you only need to use small amounts, therefore they last you a very long time.
My second favorite beauty item I can’t live without are my Ardell Individual Lashes. I have the ugliest lashes ever. They won’t hold a curl, even with some of the best mascaras. I have sparse areas and for some reason my left eye hates me. The lashes on that eye just don’t wish to cooperate with me EVER! So my trick is to buy individual lashes in the length “short” and I use them to fill in my sparse areas. They honestly look so natural, no one knows I’m wearing fake lashes. In fact, I prefer individuals over strips. They are so easy to apply and you can add as much or as little as you desire. You can also go up in length if you want a more dramatic effect. But for every day use I prefer the short ones. They look the best when you want to wear a bold lip and a neutral eye.
Since we are chatting about lashes, I’ll now mention my other favorite lash product and that’s the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. One of my faves for the longest was their original Voluminous Mascara but they have stepped up the game with this beauty. Its a dupe for Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara but half the dang price. It’s a drug store brand, which makes it that much better. You can enjoy the benefits of this product without crying about spending some of your mortgage on the cost. I just restocked this and most likely will keep restocking until I find a mascara I like more. Hasn’t happened yet though.
Unfortunately, my next fave is high end but it’s worth every penny. It’s the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. I recommend this product for my dry faced ladies who need as much moisture on their face as possible. Oily ladies, I would rethink this product if I were you. Some of my favorite foundations are matte foundations. But for us dry faces, you can actually feel your face cracking and tightening as the day goes on. It’s no bueno (that means “no good” in Spanish, for all the people reading this and asking wtf does that mean?). I use this primer oil on top of a moisturizing primer and my face stays nice and hydrated for most of the day.
The next beauty fave of mine is also a drug store product and it is the Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil. Now this thing must be everyone’s friggin favorite because it’s totally impossible for me to find in any drug store around my neighborhood. I can understand why and it’s because it’s THAT good. The quality of this pencil surpasses some high end brands for me. I even love it more than my Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil. I know, I must be nuts. But I reach for this one the most. The point is perfect for making little natural eyebrow pencil strokes to give yourself a natural brow. I’m not into that Instagram brow. Sorry to the ladies who love that look, more power to you, but I just can’t get down with it. I like defined brows but I like a more natural shape. But whatever floats your boat. The formula is perfect too, not too waxy, not soft. Just PERFECTO!
My last beauty item I just received in my BoxyCharm monthly subscription has become a new favorite of mine. It’s the Dr. Brandt PoreDermabrasion Pore Perfecting Exfoliator. This item is costly!!!! It’s chaching expensive!!!! But it’s worth it. I’ve used exfoliating cleansers before, even exfoliating masks and I have yet to try anything like this. The microbeads are soooo small you do actually feel them removing dead skin off your face. It doesn’t hurt, but if you’re rough with it, you can make your face raw. So rub it gently people! After I used it, my face is as soft as a baby’s bottom. It removed a lot of texture I had on my face and my skin felt great.
So there you have it! Let me know your thoughts on these items.
